Security Report – April 2019

Hello, everyone. I’ve recently joined the board as Security Chair. Over the past couple months, we’ve continued to experience car prowls and package thefts in the neighborhood.

Deterrence is the key! To prevent prowls and break-ins to cars parked outside, make sure cars are locked and no items are left visible to attract the attention of thieves. Lights on home exteriors, particularly those equipped with motion sensors, and cameras can help deter prowlers. These criminals operate quickly under the cover of darkness in the wee hours of the morning.

To deter the brazen daytime theft of packages left on porches, consider using a commercial mail-receiving agency or a work location for delivery instead of the home. Alternatively, shippers will hold packages for pickup at their locations upon request.

Also, as a reminder, please remember that access to the beach park is restricted to Blue Ridge residents and their guests. Key fobs are not to be shared with or loaned to others. Please contact our association manager, Michelle Morgan, to report lost fobs, to request replacements, or to report unauthorized park visitors.
