Blue Ridge Tennis
The Blue Ridge tennis program is ready to continue last year’s fantastic junior camps and adult clinics. For 2017, Tennis Director, Nick Ketcham has new games and drills ready for the camps and is expanding the offerings for the adult programs. If last year was any indication of the popularity of tennis, then this summer will look to build on the success of last year’s participation!
Junior Camps are offered for kids 4-17 years old and for levels from beginners to intermediate levels. Camps are four days a week and pack a ton of fun instruction and games for all players. Camp groupings are as follows and you can click on the PDF here for more information:
- Pee Wees = 3-5 year olds beginners (parent or guardian required on court)
- Red Ball = 6-8 year old beginners
- Orange Ball = 9-10 year old beginner to intermediate players
- Hitters = 11-17 year old beginner to intermediate players
- BR Team = 11+ years of age; intermediate+ players that will compete
Adult tennis programs at Blue Ridge offer something for everyone. From the complete beginner to the seasoned intermediate and competitive player, there’s a clinic to cover everyone. Click here for more information found on the tennis program PDF.
- Beginner = Cover the basics and get rallying as quickly as possible
- Intermediate = More technique focused class and strategy
- Cardio Tennis = High-energy that is heavy on pro-fed drills and exercise elements
- Wimbledon Workout = Players Wanted! Intense play-based clinic for intermediate+ players
Private Lessons are available upon request and can be accommodated outside of camp and clinic times. Small groups can also be put together in case camp schedules don’t work out for your junior players. Private Lessons are one of the best ways to improve because of the individual attention and time spent to help improve technical issues. To schedule private lessons, please email Nick directly to put in your request today!
I am thrilled to continue building tennis in the Blue Ridge community this summer. I have a strong passion for tennis and look forward to sharing it with everyone. I grew up playing at a smaller, more intimate club and will always remember that as my roots to the sport I love. I hope to create the same environment for everyone that participates and look forward to growing the tennis program!
I am a Seattle native and played for Mercer Island High School for three years as well as four years for the Washington State University (WSU) and club team. My combined experience of coaching at the Mercer Island Beach Club, Eastside Tennis Center and now home at Tennis Center Sand Point since its opening in 2013, has given me the ability to lead a dynamic and fun program here at Blue Ridge.
Also, we are lucky to have Clay Dudley as our other tennis instructor that many of you already know from last year. Clay is available to schedule private lessons with on weekday evenings, Friday daytime and some weekends. Please email me at anytime and I will help coordinate private lessons and groups with Clay!
