Many of you may already be aware of this, but I’ll relay the info here since some are not in the Facebook world. On Wednesday May 27th a home on Woodbine was broken into through a locked sliding glass door on. The house alarm was set, but this particular door did not have an alarm sensor so the alarm did not go off until the thief left through the front door. Jewelry from the home was stolen.
I think it’s a good idea to have all doors and windows set with an alarm sensor. Plus motion sensors and glass break sensors set to go off in case someone breaks glass to get in the house and also to go off when a thief moves around in your home. In addition, the old school steel bar or wooden rod cut to fit between the sliding glass door and the door frame is a good idea.
On Sunday May 31st someone pried off the BMW emblem from the hood of a car on Valmay.
It’s too bad we have to always be thinking of how to protect our homes and vehicles from damage and theft, but this is our reality. Not to be a downer… we are all very fortunate to live here in Blue Ridge. It’s just that we need to make it more difficult for would-be thieves. If we are known to be easy targets we will get targeted more.
